Often times undesirable objects in our viewfinders go unnoticed until we open a photo on our computers later, only to get frustrated with spoiled shots. When that happens, be it strangers in the background, power lines or a plane in the sky, we need to remove these unwanted elements from our images. It is Inpaint that comes to rescue in situations like that.
Inpaint is the easiest way to retouch wrinkles, pimples and other skin defects to effortlessly repair old photos by taking away any scratches, spots and tears or to get rid of watermarks, date stamps, text and logos.
This software is very easy to use. The only thing you should do is create a selection using the Marker tool, the Lasso tool, Polygonal Lasso or Magic Wand and click Erase. The program will take care of the rest. The intelligent algorithm of the program finds similar structures in the surroundings and brings them into the selected area. The Donor area (green) represents pixels which are used to fill the selection area, while the Mask area (red) covers the element that should be removed from the image.
To sum it up, Inpaint mainly targets the amateur user. It operates quickly and efficiently and does a good job removing unwanted elements from photos as if they were never there. That means no more long background retouching sessions, just mark it and remove it - that’s it.
